Wayne County Michigan Tax Foreclosure Process

Wayne / Oakland County Tax Foreclosure Process

In the last two weeks I have met with several people who are losing theirWayne County Tax homes to tax foreclosure.  These homes are paid in full, have no mortgage, but are just one step away from being lost.  The good news is I am helping several of these people keep their homes, stop the tax foreclosure process, and get back on the right track.  The bad news is there are thousands of other people just like them that are about to lose their homes.

Today, people in Wayne, Oakland, or any other Michigan County that owe property taxes for the year 2010 will lose their home in March of 2013.  Your home will then be sold at public auction in the September of 2013 and you will have to move.  Maybe you saw the billboards throughout the Detroit area just a few months ago advertising homes being sold by the Wayne County Treasurer, those were the tax foreclosure homes from 2009.

If your are behind on your property taxes and you want to understand the time frame a little better please review the Michigan Property Tax Foreclosure process.  Please understand that doing nothing is the worst thing you can do.  A consultation with my office is complementary.  Also, both Wayne and Oakland counties have assistance programs to help people keep their homes.  Regardless, you need to figure this problem out now!  In just about three months there will be nothing I, nor anyone else will be able to do to help you.
